Let’s make brushes! A basic brush building tutorial

A lot of people ask me where to get my brushes and while it’s really cool it’s even better if you don’t have to rely on other people’s resources. This tutorial shows how to make your own grungy basic brushes for yourself! It’s really easy and fun. I do it a lot if I’m feeling uninspired, because sometimes a certain brush will make you go “oh this would be amazing for texturing a rock or a hill” and there you go, inspiration.

Today I have some Brushes here that are imitating a bit of a random stroke from extremely thin to pretty thick with as much randomization as possible.
Made with Photoshop CS6, I think they’ll only work good in CS6+.
